Position Title: Civil Estimator (Australian Infrastructure)
Work Set-up: Work From Home
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm PH Time
Salary: Php 45,000 – Php 55,000

About the Role

Our client based in Victoria, Australia is seeking an Estimator/Civil Engineer with 2 to 3 years of experience in civil infrastructure. You will deliver accurate civil construction estimates for projects based in Victoria, Australia. Your core focus will encompass all aspects of estimating for civil earthworks, alongside asphalt paving and curbing.

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR CIVIL ESTIMATOR (AUSTRALIAN INFRASTRUCTURE)

Responsibilities as a Civil Estimator (Australian Infrastructure):

Quantity Take-offs & Earthworks Estimation
o Manage all aspects of estimating for civil earthworks, including cut/fill, bulk excavation, and detailed excavation.
o Use specialized software to conduct 3D volumetric analysis and earthworks modeling.
o Measure project quantities from civil engineering drawings, digital terrain models, and site plans.
o Prepare a comprehensive Bill of Quantities (BOQ) matching Australian industry standards.
o Calculate material compaction, bulkage factors, and soil disposal costs.
o Estimate costs for specific work packages, including asphalt, curbing, and storm water drainage, & sub-base preparation.

Tender Preparation
o Compile complete, competitive tender submissions and price schedules for civil projects.
o Review tender documents to identify project risks, earthworks scope gaps, and site conditions.
o Request and analyze quotes from Australian suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
o Assist in drafting technical tender responses and earthworks methodology statements.

Project Support & Communication
o Maintain regular communication with onshore Project Managers and Estimators in Victoria.
o Update internal cost databases with current Australian material prices and plant/equipment hire rates.
o Clarify design discrepancies by drafting Requests for Information (RFIs).

Qualifications as a Civil Estimator (Australian Infrastructure):

Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• 2 to 3 years of experience in civil estimation, quantity surveying, or site engineering.
• Proven experience in comprehensive earthworks volumetric analysis, asphalt layout, and concrete curbing.

Technical Skills

• Mandatory experience using MudShark estimating software (or an equivalent 3D earthworks take-off package like Cubit, CostX, or 12d).
• Proficiency in digital take-off and markup software such as Bluebeam Revu.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for complex formula-based cost estimation.
• Strong ability to read and interpret complex civil engineering, grading, and architectural drawings.
• Familiarity with Australian civil construction standards and VIC roads specifications is highly preferred.

Soft Skills & Work Environment

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills for remote collaboration.
• Sharp attention to detail to ensure zero calculation errors in commercial bids.
