Cloud Engineer

We are looking for a Cloud Engineer to support technology needs related to client projects within an ICT Consultancy environment. This role will focus heavily on automation, scripting, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) to enhance delivery and implementation of solutions. The position may involve collaboration with internal IT teams and direct support for key client projects, especially where cloud-based automation is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Support automation and scripting tasks to streamline project delivery.
• Assist in implementing cloud-based infrastructure using IaC tools and DevOps practices.
• Collaborate with implementation teams to ensure project deadlines are met.
• Conduct performance testing, disaster recovery simulations, and solution validation.
• Work with operations teams to integrate monitoring and high availability requirements.
• Create and maintain documentation of automation processes and technical solutions.
• Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to support teams.
• Adhere to internal IT policies, security standards, and governance frameworks.

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services (e.g., Virtual Machines, Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure SQL, Automation Accounts).
• Familiarity with automation and IaC tools such as Azure DevOps, Terraform, Puppet, or Pulumi.
• Proficiency in scripting with PowerShell and/or Python.
• Experience with Windows Server OS, Active Directory/Entra ID, and DSC/ARM templates.
• Working knowledge of SQL Server (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS) and SQL Azure.
• Experience with version control, branching, and code review best practices.
• Comfortable working in global teams and 24x7 service environments.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies.

Preferred:

• Background in delivering or supporting automation and infrastructure solutions based on client requirements.
• Experience creating production-ready scripts and tools for deployment or monitoring.
• Familiarity with cloud governance and compliance principles.
