Your Role as Commercial Accountant

As a Commercial Accountant, you'll provide key senior stakeholders with accurate financial information and analysis, enjoy challenging traditional processes and the status quo. You'll also support the business with accurate customer/product profitability, factory budget and forecasting, product costing and inventory valuations, production variance reporting

What You’ll Be Doing:

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Prepare the annual factory budget and quarterly forecasts, aligning them with company goals and financial targets.
• Report monthly variances with insights and recommended corrective actions.

Manufacturing Variance Analysis

• Report weekly on key variances, and collaborate with management to resolve material gaps:
• Production variances
• Purchasing variances
• Stock take variances
• Recovery variances

New Product & Market Pricing

• Partner with Operations, Procurement, and Sales to develop financial costing for new product development.
• Provide recommendations on customer pricing and product feasibility.
• Periodically review market trends and cost movements to identify necessary price adjustments.

Product Costing Accuracy

• Ensure precise product costings, including both variable and overhead allocations, within the ERP system.
• Collaborate with production planners to maintain accurate Bills of Materials.
• Set annual standards during the budgeting process and ensure accurate standard costs for all manufactured and purchased materials.

Customer & Product Profitability

• Conduct regular reviews of customer and product profitability.
• Provide actionable insights and recommendations to support margin reviews and pricing decisions.

Ad Hoc Tasks & Continuous Improvement

• Support various finance team tasks and initiatives.
• Identify and implement process and profit improvement strategies.
• Maintain a savings pipeline and track realized savings through the P&L.
• Assist in preparing capital expenditure proposals, business case evaluations, and store lease assessments.

Previous Experience and Qualifications

• CA/CPA/CIMA qualified.
• Experience in costing products in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with Customer & product profitability, budgets and forecasts
• Work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment.

Skill Requirements

• High level of detail orientation and sound commercial acumen
• Ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel & SAP B1(ERP)
• Ability to build and maintain positive and effective business relationships
