Job Description - Compensation & Benefits Assistant Manager

The Compensation and Benefits Assistant Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day  operations related to employee compensation, benefits, and payroll processes. This position ensures  team effectiveness, alignment with organizational goals, and compliance with company policies and legal  regulations. As a subject matter expert, the assistant manager provides critical feedback, guidance, and  support to C&B associates and specialists, fosters workflow enhancements, and encourages team-driven  innovation to optimize processes and elevate employee satisfaction. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

A. Payroll Operations: 

  • Oversee and manage the complete payroll cycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and the timely  disbursement of salaries. 
  • Supervise and validate timekeeping data, ensuring precise calculations of hours worked, overtime, and  applicable deductions. 
  • Analyze payroll metrics to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for process improvement, ensuring  operational excellence. 
  • Ensure adherence to tax regulations and labor laws, maintaining full compliance in all payroll practices. Collaborate with the Finance team for seamless payroll reconciliation and audits, ensuring precision  and timeliness. 

B. Benefits Administration: 

  • Administer and optimize comprehensive benefits programs, including health insurance, life insurance,  retirement plans, and government-mandated benefits. 
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of government remittances (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG) and full  statutory compliance. 
  • Coordinate with external providers for HMO, Group Life Insurance, and Retirement Plans, handling  enrollments, renewals, and claims processing. 
  • Continuously review and enhance existing benefits offerings, proposing strategic improvements to  boost employee satisfaction and retention. 
  • Ensure team compliance with benefits administration policies, legal requirements, and internal  guidelines. 
  • Act as a key resource for employees, providing expert guidance on benefits-related inquiries and claims resolution

C. Employee Records Management and Data Privacy:

  • Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of employee records in the HRIS system, ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.
  • Supervise the encoding of new hires and deactivation of separated employees, ensuring data integrity. Uphold strict data privacy standards, handling sensitive employee information with the utmost discretion and confidentiality.
  • Generate and analyze reports from the HRIS system for management review and regulatory compliance.

D. Communication and Employee Experience Support:

  • Effectively communicate policy changes and updates to the team, ensuring clarity and understanding. Provide constructive feedback and professional guidance to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of required reports to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to associates, addressing compensation and benefits inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external vendors to resolve complex issues and enhance service delivery.
  • Gather and analyze employee feedback to recommend actionable improvements to compensation and benefits services.

WORKING ARRANGEMENT:

  • On-site, Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
  • Occasional work on weekends and holidays may be required.
  • Flexibility to work on a shifting schedule as needed to meet payroll processing timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in compensation and benefits administration, or HR operations.

Skills:

o Advanced knowledge of compensation and benefits structures, payroll processes, and compliance regulations.

o Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a focus on process improvement.

o Proven ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion and integrity. o Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems, with strong data management skills. o Advance Skills in Microsoft Excel

o Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact and collaborate with employees at all organizational levels.
