Content Copy Editor

You will primarily edit copy for location pages, static pages, and blogs; secondarily implement content into clients’ content management systems; and thirdly develop content to help with production efforts of the content team. You work well with a team and take initiative to meet goals and deadlines.

Job Expectations

• Edit copy for static pages, location pages, and blogs.

• Rewrite and proofread existing content created for the company and its clientele for readability, consistency, and English language best practices according to the Go Local Style Guide.

• Adhere to branding guidelines, along with the required voice and tone.

• Manage multiple projects and adapt to changes and revisions.

• Leverage digital platforms to implement content.

• Write copy for static pages, location pages, and blogs.

• Clearly and consistently communicate between internal product teams.

• Research and stay up-to-date on industry trends and writing best practices

Communicate clearly and consistently with internal product teams using our primary platforms (ClickUp, Slack, Google Drive).

Bachelor’s Degree in English, Mass Communications, Journalism, or another related field preferred.

• 1+ years of related work experience – online content, extensive website management, business content. Similar to a copywriter but focused on website content rather than general content creation.

• Portfolio is preferred but not required.

• This position will be backend and will not have client contact.

•Proven track record of prioritizing, organizing, and multitasking in a flexible and fast-paced environment to meet strict deadlines.

• Strong conceptual and written communication skills with a deep understanding of the English language (spelling, grammar, and vocabulary).

• Thorough knowledge of Associated Press (AP) Style.

• Proven track record of improving personal performance after receiving direction and constructive criticism.

• Creative and strategic thinking when solving problems.

• Attention to detail while creating and revising projects.

• Basic understanding of content management systems, such as WordPress.

• Understanding of search engine optimization.

• Proficient skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
