BASIC FUNCTION
Manage the timely collection of all debts and payments in accordance with Insight’s credit control procedures and via the appropriate communication methods.
What you’ll do at Insight
- Lead Credit Controllers to achieve cash collection targets and minimise aged debt/bad debt through effective collection activity and maintenance of good working relationships with clients and sales teammates
- Negotiate payment schedules where necessary and encourage early settlement of outstanding debt and escalate non-payment and insolvency cases for subsequent action subject to the appropriate authorization
- Periodically review outstanding debts, recommend the write-off of small and/or bad debts and make provisions for handling doubtful debts following agreed processes and with appropriate authorization
- Administer and maintain the aging profile and ensure collection targets are successfully achieved
- Reconcile nominated client accounts and maintain accuracy of client account balances, using appropriate systems
- Ensure reporting requirements on nominated client accounts are adhered to
- Review held orders and release within agreed service level agreements and operate specified ‘stop’ and ‘release’ activities on client accounts
- Ensure queries are resolved efficiently and effectively by acting as a point of escalation and ensuring teammates take responsibility for ensuring queries are resolve
- Drive an improvement in Days Sales Out (DSO)
- Ensure that an acceptable level of activity and standards of collection via telephone is maintained
- Ensure that the team release held orders in line with the departmental policies and service level agreements
- Ensure all tax certificates that are needed by clients are proactively requested from the appropriate tax authorities
- Ensure the 120+ credit balances are proactively managed each quarter
- Notify the Senior Finance Operations Manager of any irregularities, lack of compliance, lack of adherence, and or problems, whether actual or potential, concerning the financial systems, accounting, and audits which may present financial implications
- Ensure compliance with relevant audits, regulations, and legislation by determining the impact of any changes and taking required action where necessary
What you’ll need to join Insight
- Educated to degree level or can demonstrate equivalent work experience
- High level of written and spoken English
- Experience of working within a statutory legal and/or regulatory framework
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
- Proven team leader experience – driving passion, motivation, and energy throughout team
