Proceeds with filing and organizing activities involved in the day-to-day activities of the Crew Dept
Position Summary
Report to the HD
Support on the day-to-day running of the Crew Dept. on crewing matters
Provides information, formal and informal, to enhance our fleet effective control and management
Liaise with manning agents, Fleet and the vessels
Works closely alongside and in conjunction with:
Managers and operators
Senior ship’s staff, upon coordination with the HC
It is therefore imperative that the position develops extremely good working relationships with all parties. At the same time, retains an independence so that can provide report objectively on Crewing safety related performance and effort derived through competence
Core Job Functions
Safeguards the established practices to guarantee that personnel profiles and criteria for recruitment and promotion are adhered to and they are incorporated in the appropriate screening and evaluation
Assists in filing vital supportive documentation for screening and promotion decisions, as per our practices in the designated filing system
Monitors and controls the compliment of crews onboard as per established practices and procedures
Ensures the prompt monitoring and filing of all medical crew related case throughout the fleet, to assure that all medical records are:
Properly maintained
Available
Liaise with respective vessel by updating status of Senior officers’ replacement
Retrieves the required crew data and statistics or provides such information to the:
HC, on an ad-hoc basis
Operation, Technical and other interesting parties, when required
Initiates and follows up with the Superintendents and Managers, the evaluation for senior seafarers
Qualifications
Must be a graduate of any bachelor’s degree course.
Must have an extensive experience in crew manning or Shipmanagement for a minimum of 2 years holding a similar position or its equivalent if of technical background.
Thorough knowledge of:
International crewing conventions, as:
IMO/ILO/STCW
ISM
ISPS including flag state
Customer (TMSA)
Maritime Unions
Adequate English Skills
Ability to use:
Office software
Spreadsheets
Document management systems
Any experience on ERP systems would be an additional benefit
