Data Architect

The Data Architect will be responsible for the management of data repositories, flows and security of the supported product. As such he/she will be responsible for the ongoing and future development and support of the technology stack associated with data management. The incumbent will work closely with the business product owners to define the data requirements and flows for the solution. He/She will own the corresponding technical roadmap and will collaborate with the Chief Software Architect and the Security Technology teams to plan, enhance, and maintain the data management platform in alignment with AXOS standard and technology strategy direction.

As a Data Architect , the role will have a team of developers/team members reporting directly to him or her and will interface with COE leads (eg Agile, QA) to leverage the key resources required to develop and maintain solution.

• Collaborating with business stakeholders, data analysts, and data engineers to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.
• Developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models to ensure data consistency, integrity, and accuracy.
• Implementing efficient and scalable data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
• Designing and optimizing database structures and schemas for performance and scalability.
• Ensuring data quality and integrity by defining and implementing data governance and data management practices.
• Defining and implementing data security and access controls.
• Performing data profiling, analysis, and validation to identify data quality issues and propose remediation strategies.
• Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior data and integration team members.

Qualifications:

• At least five (5) years of experience in data architecture
• 3-5 years of technical team management experience
• 3-5 years of leadership on complex data technology portfolio
• 2-3 years in working in an agile environment
• Exposure to banking/security industry a plus

Educational Level:

• Trained in very discipline environment (compliance, military, aviation, banking) where compliance and governance are critical to success.
• Bachelor's degree in MIS / Business / IT or a similar subject with appropriate architecture certification (eg TOGAF).
• Agile Product owner training and certification is strongly desired

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proven knowledge and experience in data modelling techniques.
• Experience with SQL
• Knowledge of Agile-based practices.
• Experience working closely with Scrum teams and external parties on architecture and design.
• Knowledge of BI tools such as Metabase and Tableau
• Knowledge of Big data analytics tools would be a bonus.
• Relevant IT accreditations or certifications, particularly in data management or business intelligence architecture.
• Experience with Governance considerations such as privacy, sovereignty, security, and data lifecycle/retention
• Experience in developing, embedding and implementing data governance and architecture frameworks and processes.
• Good knowledge of market data systems, including data feeds, market data platforms, and trading systems.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to effectively capture requirements and relay technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in market data system architecture design and implementation, database technologies, and cloud computing
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to market data, such as MiFID II, Dodd-Frank, or other relevant regulations is a plus
• Must possess excellent communication and engagement skills to build collaborative and trustworthy relationship with key business and IT representatives
• Must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in agile, pipeline management, systems development methodology
• Must be able to work autonomously and demonstrate a strong leadership
• Have managed and deployed complex technical solutions
• Develop and deliver presentations, training sessions and demos
