About the Job:

Our client is looking for a Data Engineering Senior Manager (Lead) who will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing scalable data infrastructure and solutions. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to transform business requirements into innovative data-driven solutions. You will also oversee data security, governance, and compliance while mentoring junior engineers, ensuring continuous improvement in processes and technologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of extensive experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of leading complex data projects and teams.
• Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, with expertise in software engineering best practices.
• Extensive experience with data warehouse technologies, particularly Snowflake and Databricks, including optimization and strategic roadmap development.
• Expertise in big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and Hive, with practical experience managing large-scale data environments.
• Hands-on experience with real-time data streaming and event-driven architectures, using tools like Apache Kafka.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data pipeline architecture, with a history of applying best practices.
• Proven problem-solving abilities and the capability to troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a history of mentoring engineers and leading cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently while also leading collaborative efforts within a team environment.
• Experience driving the adoption of new tools and technologies and successfully integrating them into existing practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of data security and governance frameworks.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies in data engineering.

Scope & Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable data pipelines, ensuring they meet performance, reliability, and security requirements.
  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to convert business requirements into advanced data solutions and ensure their seamless integration across the platform.
• Optimize and manage data platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks, ensuring they meet scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency goals.
• Ensure data governance, security, and compliance standards are consistently met across all data engineering initiatives.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior engineers, ensuring they are following best practices and continuously improving their skills.
• Lead efforts in troubleshooting and resolving complex data issues, providing strategic and efficient solutions.
• Guide the team through the adoption of new data engineering tools and technologies, integrating them into existing workflows to drive innovation and efficiency.
• Oversee data modeling, ETL processes, and data pipeline architecture, ensuring best practices are followed to achieve high-quality outcomes.
• Drive the integration of real-time data streaming and event-driven architectures using tools like Apache Kafka.
• Maintain open communication with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business goals and to address challenges in real-time.
