Data Management Senior Specialist

The Data Management Senior Specialist plays a critical role in advancing the Investment Division’s data management capabilities by ensuring high standards of data quality, governance, and operational excellence. This role brings deep expertise in securities master data and investment operations, and serves as a subject matter expert (SME) in data management practices.

As an experienced individual contributor with leadership responsibilities, the Senior Specialist drives complex data initiatives, strengthens control frameworks, and provides strategic recommendations aligned with industry best practices. The role partners closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact data solutions that support trading, valuation, performance, compliance, and reporting processes.

Position Responsibilities:

Data Management Operations & Expertise

• Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in securities master data, including complex and private securities.
• Oversee and perform end-to-end security setup and maintenance within the Data Management Security Master platform.
• Lead the investigation and resolution of complex data discrepancies across order management systems and enterprise data platforms.
• Ensure timely and accurate resolution of data issues in alignment with defined service level agreements (SLAs).
   

Data Governance, Controls & Quality

• Champion data governance standards, ensuring adherence to established data management principles, policies, and controls.
• Lead periodic and ad hoc reviews of security master data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Proactively identify control gaps and recommend enhancements to strengthen data quality frameworks.
• Support audit and risk management activities, including issue remediation, documentation, and tracking of corrective actions.
   

Project Delivery & Change Initiatives

• Play a key role in delivering strategic data initiatives and transformation projects.
• Analyze business requirements, map data flows, and identify process inefficiencies or risks.
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to design and implement scalable data solutions.
• Advocate for process automation and continuous improvement to reduce operational risk and enhance efficiency.
   

Stakeholder Advisory & Collaboration

• Provide expert recommendations to stakeholders on data-related decisions, leveraging established data governance frameworks.
• Partner with investment operations, technology, and reporting teams to ensure alignment of data requirements and usage.
• Act as a point of escalation for complex data issues and provide guidance to junior team members.
   

Reporting, Metrics & Insights

• Monitor and report on key data management metrics, including:
  • Data quality scores
  • SLA adherence
  • Issue resolution timelines
  • Audit findings
• Generate insights to inform decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support the development of dashboards and reporting tools for data monitoring and transparency.
   

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

• Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date process documentation and data standards.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and capability building within the team through mentoring and cross-training.
   

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience in investment management, investment operations, or securities data management.
• Strong knowledge of financial instruments, securities lifecycle, and investment operations processes.
• Demonstrated expertise in security master data management.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Advanced user of Bloomberg.
• Working knowledge of platforms such as Aladdin, BDMS, or similar systems.
   

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in data governance frameworks and data quality management.
• Intermediate proficiency in SQL (nice to have).
• Relevant data management certifications (nice to have).
