Design Manager

• Lead and coordinate all aspects of station design development for civil works, architecture, passenger flow, ventilation, MEP, and associated systems.
  


• Manage multi-disciplinary design consultants and subcontractors, ensuring integration of all design elements.
  


• Review consultant outputs for compliance with standards, constructability, and operational requirements.
  


• Ensure all designs meet local and international codes (NFPA, EN/BS, PNS, Philippine Building Code).
  


• Oversee technical vetting of designs for ventilation, smoke extraction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, finishes, and fire/life safety systems.
  


• Evaluate, document, and manage design changes, risks, and variation requests.
  


• Define deliverables, review and approve design submittals, and ensure timely submissions with traceability.
  


• Monitor design consultant performance against project KPIs and stage gates.
  


• Coordinate closely with construction teams to ensure design constructability and support resolution of site queries.
  


• Serve as the main interface to stakeholders, ensuring effective coordination with employers, engineers, contractors, and authorities.
  

Requirements

• Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Architecture (Master’s preferred); Professional license required.
  


• Minimum 15 years’ infrastructure/transport design experience with at least 5 years in a contractor-side design manager role for major rail/metro/station projects.
  


• Strong knowledge of global standards and best practices (NFPA, EN/BS, ASHRAE, IEC, PNS, etc.).
  


• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary design, interfaces, and consultants for MEP, ventilation, architecture, and fire safety.
  


• Excellent technical leadership, communication, negotiation, and proficiency in BIM, AutoCAD, Revit, and document control.
