Job Description - Designer/Estimator


Responsibilities





    Position Overview: The Design & Quoting Principal will play a crucial role in our operations, responsible for accurately estimating project costs and working with our clients to provide solutions that meet their needs. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills. As the Design & Quoting Principal, you will be required to prepare detailed and accurate quotes for a variety of projects often with tight deadlines. You will work in close liaison with clients, our suppliers, and our sales team. This individual will need to be able to work independently and productively. Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately read / interpret client-provided requests and floor plans to develop a thorough understanding of the project requirements

  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and translate them into effective solutions using our standard product list, bespoke solutions or sourcing new items

  • Prepare timely pricing on jobs for clients Issue pricing / quote requests to our suppliers and manage this process effectively

  • Work closely with our international and local suppliers and sales team to ensure projects are accurately priced and delivered on time

  • Develop and maintain strong and sustainable relationships with clients and suppliers

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, materials, and technologies to provide innovative and cost-effective solutions




Requirements





  • Proven experience as an estimator and / or designer in a related industry (with preference for furniture, fixtures, modular building design)

  • Strong understanding of cost estimation principles (margin, container loading + freight, FX etc.)

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

  • SketchUp and Photoshop skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Intermediate knowledge of interior design principles and layout planning will be viewed favourably

  • Demonstrated experience with fit out, refurbishment and extension works would be advantageous

  • Website design / maintenance skills would also be viewed favourably (but not a strict requirement)




Work Arrangement




  • Work Setup: On-site

  • Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm flexi start time, should complete nine 9 hours work
