Job Description - Disputes Resolution Lawyer


Education



  • Admitted member of the Philippine Bar in good standing.



  • Holder of a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and a bachelor's degree in a related discipline.


Qualifications



  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven experience in litigation and legal dispute management.



  • Strong working knowledge of Philippine laws, regulatory requirements, and jurisprudence.



  • Familiarity with the telecommunications industry and its applicable legal and regulatory environment is an advantage.


Duties and Reponsibilities

Litigation:



  • Attends hearings at National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), National Labor Relations Commissions (NLRC), Metropolitan Trial Courts, Municipal Trial Court, Regional Trial Court, Court of Appeals, and other quasi-judicial bodies.

  • Attends public hearings or committee hearings before the Local Government Councils, House of Representatives, or the Senate.

  • Drafts pleadings, position papers, and other documents in relation to cases pending before NTC, NLRC, MTC, MeTC, RTC, CA, and other quasi-judicial bodies.

  • Researches and drafts position papers for proposed bills pending before Congress and other proposed legislation and proposed memorandum circulars & regulations of NTC.

  • Prepares, files, and supervises filing of applications or position papers filed before the Intellectual Property Office regarding trademarks, patents, and other IPR related filings.

  • Coordinates with external counsel regarding cases referred to them for handling.


 


Legal Counsel:



  • Renders Opinion for internal clients on proposed services to be offered by the company.

  • Replies to letters, queries on legal matters addressed to the company by third parties (dealers, subscribers, parties to proceedings).

  • Reviews contracts for identified projects and for particular groups in the organization.

  • As Manager, is vested with powers or prerogative to lay down and execute management policies, and/or to hire, transfer, suspend, lay-off, recall, discharge, assign or discipline employees.
