As an Estimator, you will be an integral part of our dynamic, results-driven team, providing crucial support for our operational objectives. This role is centered around efficiently estimating and allocating flooring materials for various jobs, by using Measure Square software, to provide the most accurate and cost-effective results. The Estimator will collaborate closely with our operations, field services, and sales teams to ensure alignment across all phases of the process, from material ordering to final bid presentation to the clients.

Responsibilities:

1. Learn and Utilize Measure Square Software: You will need to gain proficiency in Measure Square software to create detailed and accurate flooring estimates for various projects. This is an essential component of the role, requiring the ability to rapidly learn and apply new software tools.
2. Estimate and Allocate Flooring: Using the floorplans provided, you will be responsible for estimating and allocating the appropriate flooring materials required. This responsibility calls for careful analysis and a keen attention to detail.
3. Coordinate with Teams: You will work in close collaboration with the internal operations team and field services team, ensuring that the correct quantity and type of material has been ordered. This requires strong communication and organizational skills.
4. Prepare Purchase Orders: You will be responsible for preparing purchase orders for the flooring materials based on client needs, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the process.
5. Review Supplier Portals: Regular review of supplier portals to monitor delivery schedules and ensure the on-time arrival of flooring materials is a critical aspect of this role.
6. Support the Sales Team: Providing the sales team with detailed bids will allow them to finalize proposals to clients. You will need to be proactive and responsive in supporting the sales team's needs.
7. Manage Multiple Estimates: You will be responsible for managing the creation of multiple estimates simultaneously and communicating any potential issues to the operations and sales teams. This requires excellent multitasking abilities and effective time management.

Qualifications:

• Experience: At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role, especially within the flooring industry. Proficiency in using estimation software is highly beneficial.
• Analytical Skills: The ability to interpret floorplans and estimate the necessary materials accurately requires a strong analytical mindset.
• Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication with the internal team, suppliers, and clients is crucial in this role.
• Detail-Oriented: Attention to detail is essential in order to produce accurate estimates and to manage the materials ordering process effectively.
• Time Management: With multiple estimates to manage at any given time, the ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure is critical.
• Team Player: Working effectively with the operations, field services, and sales teams requires a strong team player mentality, and the ability to work collaboratively towards common goals.
• Software Proficiency: Experience in Measure Square software or similar estimation software is highly desirable. However, if not familiar, the candidate must show an ability to learn new software quickly.
• Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to identify potential issues and work to find solutions is a key part of this role.
