Evaluate, develop, and improve departmental controls, systems, and procedures to increase accuracy and efficiency.
Oversee the daily activities of the accounting department, ensuring all major projects, month-end, and year-end reports are completed accurately and on time.
Ensure that all accounting processes align with GAAP and current financial legislation.
Analyze financial data and create reports for management, stakeholders, and external parties such as vendors or lenders.
Maintain accurate and complete financial records and participate in audits or reconciliations as needed.
Assist other departments in developing strategies, establishing objectives, and making decisions that may have a financial impact on the business.
Stay informed about the latest developments in the finance industry.
Manage all company books, including financial reporting, tax, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Oversee the creation and maintenance of accounting manuals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's Degree or CPA preferred)
At least 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial legislation.
Experience in analyzing financial data, creating reports, and presenting findings to management and external stakeholders.
Proven track record of maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance, completing audits or reconciliations, and taxation.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and accounting software, particularly QuickBooks.
Possesses excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
Can start immediately if possible.
