Finance and Accounting Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

The Finance and Accounting Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day accounting and finance activities. This role involves recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, supporting tax preparation and compliance, and assisting with monthly and annual financial closings. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and knowledgeable in basic accounting principles and financial compliance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process accurately and


• on time across 5 group companies.


• Maintain and update the general ledger, prepare journal entries, and perform monthly account reconciliations.  Help manage the intercompany positions. 


• Monitor and reconcile bank statements and company accounts to ensure data accuracy.


• Prepare and file statutory tax returns such as VAT, withholding tax, and income tax in compliance with regulatory requirements.


• Maintain proper documentation, filing, and organization of financial records for easy retrieval and audit readiness.


• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and financial regulations.


• Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of necessary schedules and reports.


• Assist internal and external auditors by providing required documentation, reconciliations, and clarifications


• Invoice processing. - Receive, review, and process supplier invoices. Verify invoice accuracy, completeness, and supporting documents. Record invoices accurately in the accounting system.


• Process payments through bank transfers, checks, or other approved payment methods.

QUALIFICATIONS

• XERO certified / XERO expertise.


• Proficiency in MS Excel.


• Familiar with SYFT and/or Fathom software.


• Proven experience as a Finance and Accounting Specialist, Bookkeeper, or in a similar accounting role managing intercompany positions.


• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.


• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.


• Knowledge of local tax regulations and financial reporting standards.


• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
