Our client is an Australian professional services firm specializing in financial reporting and ASX compliance support for ASX-listed and pre-IPO companies. They work closely with boards, senior management, and auditors to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance within Australian regulatory frameworks. This offshore role offers exposure to Australian accounting standards, listed- entity reporting, and auditor-facing responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting & Reporting
Preparation of monthly management accounts and cash flow reports
Assistance with half-year and full-year statutory accounts in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards
General ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal processing
Cash flow tracking, budgeting support, and cost monitoring across projects Systems & Process Development
Develop, document, and improve accounting procedures and internal controls
Build scalable accounting systems and workflows to support reporting and audit requirements
Ensure consistency and accuracy of financial data across entities
Audit & Compliance
Lead and manage external audits end-to-end, including planning, audit preparation, auditor liaison, and issue resolution
Prepare audit schedules, supporting documentation, and technical accounting responses
Support financial components of ASX reporting, including quarterly activities reports and Appendix filings
Liaise with Australian external accountants, auditors, and advisers
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA or CA, or is advantageous
5+ years' experience in financial accounting, audit, or external accounting roles
Proven experience building accounting systems, procedures, and controls
Demonstrated confidence leading audits from start to finish
Must have led a minimum of 6 complete external audits from start to finish
Experience supporting Australian or other IFRS-based clients preferred
Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting processes
High attention to detail with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Experience with Xero or similar cloud-based accounting systems preferred
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
