As a Financial Accounting Supervisor, you will oversee accounting activities of direct reports specifically in the maintenance and improvements of accounting ledgers, records, systems, policies and procedures and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with Financial Ops and Accounting Teams to deliver results, create positive community impact and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Financial Accounting

• Maintain general accounting records including chart of accounts, principal books of accounts, subsidiaries and other accounting records and information in accordance with established policies and procedures, accounting standards, and sound accounting practices.


• Maintain accounting systems processes, policies and procedures and recommend improvements when necessary.


• Monitors performance of the automated accounting systems installed in the company and initiates changes for improvement.


• Review financial account balances to make sure that these are accurate, reliable and complete.  Initiate investigation for any unusual balances noted in the financial balances and propose recommendations for its resolution.


• Ensure that financial reports follow the accounting standards.


• Supervise the monitoring of the collection process from validation to recording.


• Consolidates the requirements for Actuarial Studies.  Reviews Actuarial Report (PAS 19) templates as applicable.


• Review on the applicability of PFRS 16 and accuracy of corresponding computation.


• Review accuracy and reasonableness of the Expected Credit Loss provision requirements


• Supervises the monthly and annual closing of books and ensures these are done timely and in accordance with policies and procedures.  Reviews journal entries of General Ledger Accountants for accuracy and validity.


• Assists in the coordination with other departments for the requirements of interim and annual financial statements audits


• Review the preparation and submission of audited financial statement requirements. 

Staff Development

• Guide direct reports on their goals and objectives, and provide direction in alignment to the BSC objectives
  Guide direct report’s accomplishment and monitoring of their Individual Development Plans.
  Provides constructive feedback based on evaluating employee performance.
  Monitors competency needs of direct reports
  Monitors compliance to the System Elements and training requirements.

Administration and Others

• Ensures that the team maintains an orderly filing of documents and records of all financial transactions that are assigned in their custody.

Technical / Functional Skills:

• Proficiency in Accounting Tools and Technology


• Strong skills in Local Business Tax, VAT, Income Tax, Large Taxpayer Taxation, Tax Accounting, Audit and Compliance 

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

• 
  

  Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy 

  
  


• 
  

  At least three (3) years in General Accounting or External Financial Audit, at least two (2) years handling a Supervisory or Leadership position

  
  


• Worked on special projects or initiatives on top of the usual general accounting procedures is an advantage


•
