Firewall Support Engineer (Junior)

I. GROUP DESCRIPTION

Onsite Services Group focuses on providing efficient and effective support or services directly at a client’s location to minimize downtime or disruptions. II. PURPOSE

  Level 1 Network and Support Engineer

III. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Reporting of blocked Ips, abnormal & high traffic


2. Firewall and Intrusion Prevention/Detection Systems


3. Add/Modify the following:
   
   
   
   1. Firewall Policy Configuration      
   
   
   2. NAT Policy Configuration            
   
   
   3. IPSEC VPN Configuration          
   
   
   4. Application & URL Filtering (if applicable)            
   
   
   5. Data Loss Prevention (If applicable)        
   
   
   6. IPS and Threat Prevention (If Applicable)            
   
   
   7. Anti-Spam (If Applicable)            
   
   
   8. Static Routes, DNS  
   
   
   
   


4.   Modify/Change of existing Sec Profiles (e.g. IPS/AV) 


5. Add/Modify/Change VPN users and User Groups


6. Modify/Change an Existing Web Filter & Application Control
   
   
   
   1. Web Filter 
   
   
   2. Application Control 
   
   
   3. Add/Delete and Modify of Ipv4 policies & objects, and traffic shaping policies requests.
   
   
   
   


7. Add/Delete and Modify of VPN user accounts & passwords, addition of this new user/s to VPN group


8. Shifting of traffic (manual link failovers) 


9. Perform daily monitoring and checking of the network and equipment status through Client provided monitoring tool if available.


10. Maintain updated network/as-built documentation and device inventory including rack location.


11. Network Monitoring at Aboitiz site using Aboitiz’ monitoring tools for all sites and devices (Trends’ supplied and existing devices)


12. Network Administration and Management for Trends’ Supplied Devices


13. Incident Management
    
    
    
    1. Trends Supplied Devices
       
    
    
    2. Trends onsite/L2/L3 to do break-fix remediation
    
    
    
    

IV. QUALIFICATIONS

A. Minimum Education

• Bachelor’s degree in any 4-year IT related courses
  

A. Minimum Experience

At least 1 year of experience in the following:

• Hands-on experience with Fortinet security solutions, specifically FortiGate firewalls


• Proficient in configuring firewall policies, VPNs, NAT, and security profiles within FortiGate


• Familiarity with Fortinet features such as IPS, Web Filtering, and Application Control


• Experience in monitoring and troubleshooting Fortinet devices in a live network environment is a plus

V. WORKING CONDITIONS

• Report to Client Office with rotation schedule 24x7
