Location: Full Onsite in our client’s Parañaque office

Working hours / Job Type: Monday to Friday, 6am to 3pm Manila time, with 8-core working hours and 1-hour lunch break

They are currently seeking a dedicated Functional Tester who is looking to build a long-term career with the company as it continues to expand both locally and internationally. The organization now employs over 2,300 people and supports a rapidly growing pipeline of major projects.


As a Functional Tester, you will be responsible for conducting manual tests to ensure that software meets its intended purpose and quality standards. Your role includes analysing systems, identifying risks, and preventing potential issues before they impact users. You will work closely with the development team and other system stakeholders to support the delivery of high-quality, reliable software applications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Test Development and Execution:

·        Develop, maintain, and execute manual test cases for functional regression and smoke testing

·        Perform exploratory testing and provide valuable feedback to improve overall software quality

·        Familiar using test management tools (Azure DevOps, Jira)

·        Knowledgeable in the Software Development Lifecycle

·        Experience in UAT and involve in UAT testing and setup the UAT environment

Continuous Improvement and Support:

·        To support the company culture and values including fostering a cohesive working environment

·        Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and practices

·        Stay up to date with industry best practices and technologies

·        Engage in supporting internal applications, including troubleshooting and issue resolution

·        Collaborate with different stakeholders to implement improvements to the testing practices

·        Be a self-managed and initiative-taking individual, capable of prioritising tasks, working independently, and taking ownership of their responsibilities in a dynamic and collaborative environment

Agile Collaboration:

·        Participate in the development of test strategies, test plans, and test cases

·        Participate in reviews of requirements, specifications, and technical design documents, providing timely and meaningful feedback

·        Participate in Agile practices such as daily scrum meetings, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives

·        Provide the team feedback on improvement for Scrum and Agile methodology

·        Collaborate with team members to ensure thorough review and approval of testing artifacts, including requirements, design documents, and test cases

·        Collaborate with development teams to understand project requirements, specifications, and design, ensuring comprehensive test coverage

Documentation and Artifact Maintenance:

·       Review and analyse user requirements to develop comprehensive and effective test cases

·       Create functional documentation and detailed test cases aligning with project requirements

·       Participate in manual system testing activities as part of Agile sprints

·       Utilise troubleshooting techniques, including connecting to different browsers/devices, analysing log files, and performing SQL queries on databases to identify and resolve issues

·       Create and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test cases, test data, and test results, ensuring artifacts are well-organised and up to date

·       Generate detailed reports on test execution progress, test coverage, and defect analysis to share with stakeholders

·       Maintain a repository of test artifacts, ensuring version control and traceability throughout the testing lifecycle

·       Regularly update and improve testing documentation based on feedback, changes in requirements, or lessons learned from previous testing cycles

·       Ensure that all testing activities adhere to relevant standards, policies, and procedures

·       Collaborate with the team to identify and implement process improvements that enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness

·       Ensure test artifacts are easily accessible and understandable to team members and stakeholders, promoting transparency and knowledge sharing

Must-have Skills / Qualification:

·        Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Software Tester role

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Advantageous or Nice-to-Have Skills/Experience:

·   Knowledge of Selenium and C#
