Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Accounting Officer to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the organization’s financial health.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update the general ledger and chart of accounts.

• Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and ensure timely month-end and year-end closing.

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

• Monitor and reconcile bank accounts and ensure accuracy in cash transactions.

• Ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.

• Coordinate with external auditors and support audit processes.

• Prepare tax filings, support statutory reporting, and ensure timely submission of government compliance documents.

• Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies, trends, and variances.

• Assist with budget preparation and financial planning processes.

• Provide support in managing accounts payable and receivable as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in general accounting or a similar role.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS).

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar).

• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools.

• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.



 

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA or equivalent professional certification is a plus.

• Experience in a corporate finance environment or audit firm.

• Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance in Philippines.
