Job Description - General Ledger Assistant Manager (APAC)

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • With the support of the APAC AP&GL Manager develop and implement, in line with the Global SSC, the accounting policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting and local accounting activities.
  • Manage and maintain the chart of accounts and accounting software systems, in line with global standards.
  • Review and approve the set-up of new vendors and sub-consultants in supplier master records, in line with global policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger, cash receipts and disbursements, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll.
  • Review financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Collaborate with global statutory accounts team to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, including GAAP and IFRS.
  • Support global ESG reporting team to set up the required database and reporting framework for sustainability reporting.
  • Responsible for month-end/year-end close processes, and work with external auditors and tax representatives to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage, lead, motivate, and develop a team of bookkeepers to ensure that they have resources, skills and training they need to become a high performing team.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to the teams in Hong Kong, Manila, and other regional offices

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field with recognized professional qualifications.
  • At least 6 - 8 years of relevant experience in MNC with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Evidence of strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Working knowledge in systems such as, JD Edwards, Blackline, and Chinese YonYou.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience working in a shared service center environment is preferred.
