General Ledger Specialist - Mandarin Language Expert

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Provides support & guidance to the Senior Associates, Associates and is responsible for the tasks under his/her area of competence (Team Primary Contact Person for respective area of expertise, i.e. WPA, Account Monitoring, BayJed) and Master Data Coordinator
•    Company Responsible under General Ledger for bigger and more complex entities. Records, verifies, and executes transactions with a certain level of complexity according to process documentation. 
•    General Ledger: WPA Non-Complex Entries (GFO and Business Initiated), Account monitoring & clearing (All GFO GL assigned), BayJED Check, Master Data Extension and changes of settings
•    Closing: Perform WPA entry to resolve issues related to closing as coordinated by other GFO teams (e.g. Reporting or VFL, PAIV & Closing)
•    Support Senior Associates and Associates in process issues related to activities assigned
•    Analyzing KPI's to be shared with RFH, follow-up GBS internal if needed 
•    Ensures process changes are documented timely and accurately: Coordinates with the different stakeholders in the preparation, update and review of specific documentation for the processes affected (i.e. perform and review ICS controls, review MyDoc Supporting Documents) 
•    Prepares and conducts process specific trainings (e.g. FATE ACADEMY Trainings), together with the GFO Advisory Team and the respective Capability Expert
•    Complies with Bayer policies and procedures and supports company initiatives 
•    Proactively takes on ownership and accountability, evaluating additional ad hoc support required and going the extra mile beyond defined tasks
•    Provides audit support
•    Performs other tasks as required by the role

WHO YOU ARE

Education

•    University degree with major in Accounting, preferably CPA

Professional Experience

•    More than 2.5 years of professional experience in Accounting and/or Audit
•    Advance knowledge of Finance systems and procedures both at a corporate level and a country/international level
•    Thorough knowledge of global accounting and reporting requirements, accounting processes and internal controls as well as local and global accounting policies (IFRS, local GAAP)
•    Good understanding of group businesses as well as businesses specific and internal reporting related accounting practices
•    Ability to work successfully with people from different cultures and backgrounds
•    Strong interpersonal, communication and conflict management skills
•    Ability to lead teleconferences in an international context
•    Ability to collaborate and work under pressure with high flexibility in changing and complex environments
•    Ownership mindset, addressing challenges proactively and with end-to-end focus, and ensuring close connection to relevant stakeholders

Language Skills

•    Must be fluent in written and verbal communication in Mandarin Chinese Language and strong level of English.

Projects

•    Experience in executing Operational Excellence initiatives and change management 

Digital Skills / Application

•    Expertise with enterprise-wide business systems thorough knowledge of ERP (SAP FI, CO, S4HANA) and BI systems and proficiency of Microsoft Office applications would be beneficial
