Scope & Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Management

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Android Developers, ensuring their professional growth and development.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.

Technical Leadership

• Define and drive the technical strategy for Android development.
• Oversee the architecture and design of Android applications, ensuring they meet high standards of quality, performance, and security.
• Stay current with the latest Android development trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Help advance architecture and abstractions allowing client code to continue to scale and feature teams to continue to deliver with ever increasing autonomy.
• Mentor team members on design patterns and code reusability.

Project Management

• Work closely with Product Management and Project Management teams to plan, execute, and deliver Android projects on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, design, and QA, to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets effectively.

Hands-on Development, Low-level Coding, and DevOps

• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and observe Scrum ceremonies.
• Lead coding activities, peer and advanced code reviews, and technical discussions.
• Ensure code quality through continuous integration, automated testing, and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Improve and maintain the mobile apps CI and CD infrastructure and pipelines.
• Develop libraries and foundations in areas such as testing, analytics, and other relevant domains.
• Develop high-quality software in Swift programming language.
• Create scalable software systems.

Stakeholder Communication

• Communicate project status, technical decisions, and risks to stakeholders.
• Liaise with senior management to align with business goals and objectives.
• Represent the Android team in meetings and presentations.

Operational Reliability

• Ensure the performance and operational reliability of applications.
• Create end-to-end system integration design and deployment strategies.
• Foster a collaborative development environment and encourage new ideas for solving common problems.
• Build and maintain developer tools to help product team work effectively.
• Seek feedback from the development team to enhance the overall developer experience.

Quality Assurance

• Lead design, code, and testing inspections throughout the life cycle to identify issues.
• Create and implement quality assurance processes to ensure that high standards are maintained.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years in developing Android native mobile applications in Swift.
• Minimum of 5 years of management experience in the same position.
• Minimum of 4 years in leading and guiding technical teams.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java programming languages.
• Strong understanding of Android architecture, frameworks, best practices, and design principles.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, various Android Frameworks, third-party libraries, and integration.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Contributions to open-source projects or personal projects related to Android development.
