Job Description - Hydrologist

CBS is looking for a dedicated and skilled Hydrologist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for studying and analyzing the distribution, movement, and properties of water in the environment. You will conduct fieldwork, collect data, and utilize various modeling techniques to assess water resources and hydrological systems. Your work will contribute to a wide range of projects, including water management, flood risk assessment, and environmental impact studies. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of hydrological principles, and the ability to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders. Responsibilities

  • Conduct hydrological studies and analyze hydrological data to support project planning and design.
  • Develop and utilize hydrological models to assess water flow, quality, and availability.
  • Perform field surveys to collect data related to water bodies, precipitation, and soil conditions.
  • Collaborate with engineers, environmental scientists, and other stakeholders on integrated water resources projects.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations summarizing research methodology, findings, and recommendations.
  • Stay updated on advancements in hydrology and related fields to enhance project outcomes.
  • Advise on regulatory compliance and best practices concerning water management and conservation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hydrology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in hydrological analysis and water resources management.
  • Proficiency in hydrological modeling software and data analysis tools.
  • Strong knowledge of water laws, regulations, and environmental impact assessments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting complex information to a variety of audiences.
  • Professional certification in hydrology or a related field is a plus.
