International Building Code Architect

Responsibilities:

1. Review Construction Document plans based on company provided building code checklist if compliant with International Building Codes and standards.


2. Interpret and communicate building codes and standards to internal teams.


3. Conduct audits and provide audit scores for teams building code compliance.


4. Provide mark-up and comments on construction document drawings on issues regarding building code compliance and construction details.


5. Update self with the latest versions and amendments in International Building Code.


6. Conduct code research as required by Project.


7. Provide solutions to construction details and building code issues.


8. Provide building code and constructability report of projects reviewed.

Qualifications:

1. Experience in working with projects in the US, applying knowledge in building construction detailing and IBC compliance.


2. Knowledge in IBC international Building Code, ADA standards, NFPA and other codes used in the US.


3. Graduate of BS Architecture with at least 5 to 7 years of experience, licensed is a plus but not required.


4. With exposure handling not only architectural but also coordination with Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and all other disciplines.


5. Knowledgeable in navigating plans in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, PDF and other industry standard softwares.


6. Proficient in using relevant softwares and tools for document management, data analysis and reporting.


7. Willing to be trained to upgrade International Building Code knowledge.


8. Extensive experience in architectural construction detailing and can provide solutions to construction and building code issues.


9. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.


10. Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
