ABOUT THE ROLE
The IT Manager at 5 ELK is responsible for the strategic planning, co-ordination, implementation, and management of the company’s IT infrastructure. This includes overseeing cybersecurity measures, endpoint & network administration, and the management of client virtual environments. The role ensures that all systems are secure, efficient, & compliant with operational and security standards. By aligning technology initiatives with 5 ELK’s business objectives and client service requirements, the IT Manager plays a key role in supporting growth, performance, & digital resilience across the organization.
Responsibilities:
ENDPOINT MANAGEMENT
Tools/Systems: Microsoft Defender, Sophos XGS 2100, Splashtop, Windows 10/11
- Enforce endpoint security across internal and client systems.
- Monitor Microsoft Defender Antivirus and ensure up-to-date protection
- Configure firewall policies via Sophos or local settings.
- Coordinate manual patching and updates for endpoints.
- Use Splashtop for remote desktop support.
- Maintain asset inventory and device lifecycle.
NETWORK AND FIREWALL MANAGEMENT
Tools/Systems: Sophos XGS 2100, NSG (Azure), UDM (if used)
- Configure and manage Sophos XGS firewalls and firmware.
- Monitor traffic, web filtering, and SSL/TLS inspection.
- Apply NSG security rules in Azure VNets.
- Maintain WAN/LAN connectivity and escalate ISP issues.
CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE & IDENTITY
Tools/Systems: Microsoft Azure, Azure AD Connect, Microsoft Entra, Hybrid AD
- Maintain Azure AD Connect sync and resolve sync issues.
- Manage hybrid AD environment stability.
- Administer Microsoft Entra policies including MFA and SSO.
- Handle user provisioning and access changes.
AZURE VIRTUAL DESKTOP (AVD)
Tools/Systems: Azure Portal, AVD Host Pools, FSLogix, Microsoft Defender
- Monitor AVD health and troubleshoot VM/session issues.
- Manage host pool scaling and configurations.
- Implement Defender for Endpoint and access controls.
SUPPORT TOOLS AND SERVICE MANAGEMENT
Tools/Systems: Splashtop, Outlook, SOPs
- Use Splashtop for remote IT support.
- Oversee IT Request Process with operations team.
- Maintain SOPs and documentation.
- Log incidents and resolution steps.
SECURITY, MONITORING AND COMPLIANCE
Tools/Systems: Sophos XGS, Microsoft Defender, Secure Score, ISO 27001
- Perform security reviews based on ISO 27001.
- Monitor antivirus, patch gaps, and access anomalies.
- Support audits and provide documentation.
IT PROJECTS AND PLANNING
(Examples: Intune onboarding, patching systems, Zoho integrations)
- Lead internal IT projects and systems upgrades.
- Research and deploy tools for operational improvement.
- Coordinate across departments for project execution.
REPORTING AND COMMUNICATION
(Channels: Weekly reports, documentation, email updates)
- Generate IT health and incident reports.
- Present risks and improvements to management.
- Coordinate with vendors for escalated support.
IT POLICIES, PROCEDURES AND COMPLIANCE DOCUMENTATION
(Tools/Systems: Word, Google Docs, SharePoint, ISO 27001 mapping)
- Develop and maintain IT policies and SOPs.
- Review and update processes annually.
- Implement acceptable use and data classification policies.
- Conduct awareness training for policy adherence.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Strong technical background in systems/network administration, automation, cloud computing (e.g. Microsoft 365, Azure), cybersecurity, and IT support.)
- Proven leadership & project management skills.
- Experience in BPO or offshore staffing environment is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be based in or willing to work onsite

- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure and networks.
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity protocols and risk mitigation.
- Ability to manage and support virtual environments and remote systems.

- High level of integrity in managing system access, compliance, and IT assets.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills in high-pressure environments.
- Flexibility to provide IT support beyond regular hours when needed.
