Job Description - IT Support Engineer

Working Schedule: Monday – Friday, Pacific Standard Time
Work Arrangement: Fully Remote (Work From Home)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Remote Support Engineer to serve as a reliable, hands-on Level 2 technical resource within our lean IT services operation. This role focuses on resolving escalated and complex support tickets, executing Microsoft 365 projects, and maintaining high-quality documentation, all under structured Service Delivery Manager coordination. You will work remotely to facilitate outcomes on higher-level tickets that exceed our frontline Service Technician capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Advanced Support & Ticket Resolution

  • Resolve escalated L2 technical issues across Windows, Microsoft 365, and client environments
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions
  • Use remote tools (RMM/remote access) to troubleshoot issues
  • Maintain accurate ticket documentation and environment records
  • Follow security best practices during troubleshooting

2. Microsoft 365 & Endpoint Management

  • Administer Microsoft 365 tenants (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Entra ID)
  • Manage users, licenses, MFA, conditional access, and security policies
  • Deploy and manage endpoints using Intune / Endpoint Manager
  • Support mailbox, SharePoint, and tenant migrations
  • Use PowerShell for automation, reporting, and bulk tasks

3. Professional Development

  • Improve skills in M365, security, and endpoint management
  • Pursue relevant Microsoft certifications
  • Help improve documentation and technical workflows

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 4+ years IT support / systems administration experience (L2 level)
  • Strong hands-on Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID, Intune)
  • Experience managing Windows endpoints and security configurations
  • MSP or multi-client environment experience preferred
  • Proven ability to work independently in a remote setup

Technical Skills

  • Microsoft 365 tenant administration
  • Entra ID (Azure AD), MFA, conditional access, SSO
  • Intune / Endpoint Manager device deployment and policies
  • Microsoft Defender, DLP, and security baselines
  • PowerShell scripting
  • PSA/RMM tools (HaloPSA, NinjaRMM preferred)
  • IT documentation systems (HUDU preferred)

Professional Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
  • Reliable communication and time management
  • Ability to manage multiple tickets/projects
  • Clear documentation and teamwork mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certifications (MS-102, SC-300, MD-102)
  • Backup/DR tools experience (Acronis or similar)
  • Familiarity with NIST/CIS/CMMC security frameworks
  • Experience with automation tools (Power Automate, Graph API)
  • Experience in on-call support roles
