Job Description - Kong Developer

Description

Designing, developing, and maintaining APIs using Kong.

Creating custom plugins for Kong to extend its functionality, such as for authentication, authorization, or traffic control.
Integrating Kong with existing APIs, services, and applications.
Monitoring the API gateway, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring its performance and stability.
Maintaining API specifications, documentation, and developer portals.
Working closely with other developers, architects, and stakeholders.
Keeping up-to-date with the latest Kong features, best practices, and security updates.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience using Kong.
Deep understanding of Kong's architecture, functionalities, and API gateway management.
Proficiency in RESTful API design, OpenAPI specifications, and microservices architectures.
Strong experience with scripting languages like Lua or Python, and potentially other languages like JavaScript/TypeScript.
Familiarity with DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and tools like Git, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
Experience with API testing, functional testing, test automation tools, and troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their integration with Kong.
Understanding of API security tools and protocols like OAuth, OIDC, and RBAC.
Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
Amenable to work in Ortigas (hybrid)
