Job Description - Laravel Developer (For Active Pooling)

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and improve existing software solutions using Laravel
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, define and implement new features
  • Write clean, efficient, and reusable code
  • Perform code reviews and refactor code as needed
  • Troubleshoot and debug software issues
  • Ensure software quality through unit testing and automated testing
  • Stay up-to-date with new trends in technology and programming languages

Requirements

  • A strong understanding of PHP programming is essential since Laravel is built on top of PHP
  • A minimum of 2 of hands-on experience with Laravel is typically expected. This ensures that the developer is familiar with the framework's core concepts and best practices.
  • Proficiency in working with databases, especially MySQL, is important as Laravel includes an elegant database ORM called Eloquent.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and popular JavaScript libraries or frameworks (e.g., Vue.js or React) is often required, as Laravel applications often involve building user interfaces.
  • Laravel follows the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architectural pattern, so a good understanding of MVC concepts is crucial.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git is typically expected, as it's essential for collaborative development and code management.
  • Knowledge of Composer, a PHP package manager, is essential for managing Laravel's dependencies and packages.
  • Many Laravel applications involve building RESTful APIs. Familiarity with API development and standards is valuable.
  • Understanding of unit testing and experience with Laravel's testing features, like PHPUnit, is beneficial for ensuring code quality.
