Librarian

1. Responsible for the general administration, preservation and promotion of organized collections of books, periodicals and reference materials.

2. Ensures that the library is well-stocked with books and publications of recent editions.

3. Orients the students/trainees, faculty and staff on the proper use of the library.

4. Catalogues and classifies books and non-book materials.

5. Promotes the use of library collection.

6. Keeps the higher authorities informed about the performance and needs of the library.

7. Informs the faculty, students and trainees on new book acquisitions.

8. Records incoming and outgoing library communication and materials.

9. Conducts inventory.

10. Prepares vertical files.

11. Does technical processes of library materials.

12. Interprets the card catalogue rules and regulations of the library to the students/trainees.

13. Updates regularly the database of the Library Automation System.

14. Prepares periodical indexes.

15. Sources out and canvasses library reference materials as requested by faculty and updates of the library holdings.

16. Assists in performing the functions of Library Head as a member of the Academic Committee and works with the Academic Coordinator on the use of updated references and text books which are published within the last five years or publications that remain within their validity.
