Our client is a prominent privately held logistics provider in the United States.
Overall purpose and responsibilities of the role:
We are looking for a strategic yet hands-on leader with a strong commercial focus and at least five years of leadership experience within the logistics and supply chain sector. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in business development, ideally from senior positions such as Country Manager, Commercial Director, or Head of Business Development.
They will bring deep expertise in areas such as freight forwarding, import/export operations, warehousing, domestic delivery services, and customs compliance, with experience in 3PL operations considered an advantage. A well-developed professional network and a consistent record of winning new accounts—particularly in non-asset-based logistics models—are highly valued.
The role requires exceptional communication, leadership, and people management skills, with the ability to guide a small, cross-functional team while driving measurable growth. We are seeking someone who thrives in fast-paced, results-oriented settings and demonstrates adaptability, initiative, and a solutions-driven mindset.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the Philippine operations, overseeing a cross-functional team including a customs broker, finance controller, and three operational/sales staff.
Own the country P&L, ensuring profitability and achieving the year-end financial goal of at least PHP 700,000 profit.
Drive business development, with a strong sales focus on acquiring new accounts to cover overhead costs and support future growth.
Establish and expand strategic partnerships across freight forwarding, warehousing, trucking, and logistics vendors aligned with the company’s fast-paced, solution-driven model.
Develop and implement commercial strategies to grow market presence, supported by data-driven competitor analysis and actionable sales initiatives.
Build and maintain strong relationships with both customers and vendors, ensuring high service standards and repeat business.
Implement and uphold brand strategy, ensuring consistency in customer engagement and service delivery across all touchpoints.
Recruit, train, and develop high-performing local teams, setting clear standards for accountability and performance excellence.
Prepare and present business reports, including monthly P&L, sales forecasts, budgets, and operational performance reviews.
Oversee internal systems usage, including Microsoft Office and CargoWise (with training provided), for invoicing, inventory, and stock control.
Foster a hands-on, entrepreneurial company culture focused on solving logistics problems that others avoid, with · emphasis on initiative over micromanagement.
Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
At least 5 years of experience in the logistics and supply chain industry
Proven leadership experience (Country Manager, Commercial Director, or Head of Business Development) with Strong local network and client acquisition track record
Sales-driven with experience bringing in new accounts
Knowledge of import/export, warehousing, local courier, freight forwarding, and customs regulations
3PL experience is a plus
Strong networking and relationship-building skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Able to lead and manage a small cross-functional team
Hands-on, results-oriented, and able to work under pressure
Open-minded, fast learner with a go-getter attitude
Willing to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
