Applicants must be eligible to work in the Philippines.Job Description OceanaGold are seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Manager –Community Relations and Development Office to lead the External Affairs and Social Performance (EA&SP) function at the Didipio Mine site to build long-term and sustainable relationships with government, communities, NGOs, Indigenous Peoples, and other key stakeholders to contribute to operational and social performance excellence. You will be a member of the site leadership team, reporting to the President and General Manager – External Affairs and Social Performance.Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Leads and coordinates development of stakeholder engagement plans and strategy aligned with EA&SP standards
  • Develops and supports team to manage positive community relations for the Didipio operations and supports and guides team members and other functions on achieving enduring positive community relations with all stakeholders
  • Ensures human rights are considered and respected in all activities undertaken by operations and exploration, including human rights due diligence, risk assessments and impact assessments and develops appropriate management plans to ensure human rights are respected
  • Designs, manages or oversees (in case of exploration) any physical or economic resettlement activities required by operations or exploration
  • Manages and resolves complaints and grievances of all stakeholders, including management reporting and analysis of grievance management system
  • Plans, manages and implements Corporate Social (CSR) projects including Social Development Management Program (SDMP), including budget and delivery in alignment with schedule and agreements Develops and implements management approaches by partnering and collaborating with stakeholders;
  • Develops and implements management approaches by partnering and collaborating with stakeholders
  • Develops and improves external communications systems
  • Identifies and communicates actions needed to implement strategy aligned with the Balanced Business Plan with the business area or department
  • Manages team effectively and reports on employee performance within the department or area of responsibility
  • Sets and oversees achievement of performance objectives for direct reports
  • Manages activities in accordance to plan and budget
  • Implements cost-saving measures for the Department while achieving social performance outcomes
Qualifications
  • Behavior consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold Way
  • Graduate of Social Science Bachelor’s Degree or any related graduate or post-graduate degree
  • Preferably a holder of master’s degree in any Social Science related course
  • With at least 5 years of Managerial/leadership experience in social performance roles
  • With at least 7 years of experience in stakeholder engagement and dialogue, social performance management systems/community development and sustainability and Social research, social risks and issues management
  • With in-depth knowledge on: United Nation’s Guiding Principles on Business Human Rights, Social Science Concepts and principles, Sustainable Development concepts and principles, Regulatory compliance requirements, Responsible Gold Mining Principles, Social context, socio-economic baseline and impact assessments.
  • Excellent and effective skills: Communication, Presentation and Technical writing, Stakeholder dialogue, engagement and relationship building, Planning and organizing, Compliance and Leadership management, Data collection and analysis, and Problem-solving and decision making
