Microsoft SQL Database Administrator

Currently has a full-time position open for a Microsoft SQL Server DBA.

As a Microsoft SQL Server Database administrator, you will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of our critical SQL Server systems, ensuring the availability and consistent performance of our applications. You will work closely with other teams to support database needs and contribute to the design and development of database strategies.

Responsibilities

•                  Provide effective configuration, operation, and maintenance of database server’s software in the Cloud.

•                  Manage and maintain database security and integrity, including backup and recovery procedures.

•                  Perform regular database monitoring, tuning, and performance optimization.

•                  Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely and accurate fashion.

•                  Database Lifecycle Management - plan and implement database upgrades and migrations.

•                  Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of database systems with other applications.

•                  Create and maintain documentation related to database configuration, processes, and procedures.

•                  Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.

Job Qualifications

•                  Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

•                  5+ years proven experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator or in a similar role.

•                  Working experience in a critical production environment on multiple database technologies

•                  Strong proficiency in SQL Server, T-SQL, and database management tools.

•                  Experience with performance tuning and optimization, Change Data Capture, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

•                  Solid understanding of database security and best practices.

•                  Knowledge of high availability (HA) (e.g., Availability Groups) and disaster recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.

•                  Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

•                  Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

•                  Microsoft SQL Server certifications

•                  Experience with other database systems, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB or Oracle.

•                  Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Azure SQL Database).

•                  Familiarity with database design and development.
