Network Security Engineer (AU Global Education, Hybrid)

Schedule: Monday – Friday (9:00 AM - 6:00 PM AEST)

What are we looking for?

Skills Required:

• 3–5 years experience in network operations with a focus on advanced troubleshooting and support
• Proven experience with cloud-native FWaaS and SASE (e.g. Cisco Meraki, Zscaler, Cloudflare, Cato)
• Full-stack Cisco Meraki (MX firewalls, MS switches, MR access points), including dashboard management
• AWS networking (VPC, subnets, routing, security groups, VPN tunnels)
• Experience with various NAC/Radius solutions (Microsoft NPS, Cisco ISE, PortNox)
• Familiarity with SASE platforms like FortiSASE, Palo Alto Prisma
• Strong background in SD-WAN (design, deployment, and management), specifically Meraki and SASE
• In-depth knowledge of protocols/technologies: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, IPSEC, VPN, QoS
• Proficiency in network monitoring and tools: PRTG, SolarWinds, Nagios, Wireshark, Splunk
• Firewall and security tech: Meraki firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC, VPN
• Experience conducting vulnerability assessments, patching, and enforcing network security policies
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and multitasking skills
• Ability to work independently and within teams

Nice to Have:

• Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, ECMS, JNCIA, JNCIP, NSE, PCNSA
• AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty or AWS Solutions Architect
• ITIL Foundation, (ISC)² certifications
• Experience with scripting/tools: Ansible, Terraform, Python, VSCode, REST APIs

What will you do?

As a Network Security Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining, securing, and optimizing our global network infrastructure. You'll work closely with internal tech teams and third-party vendors to ensure network reliability, support cloud integration, and implement advanced security measures.

• Network Monitoring and Maintenance
• Monitor network performance using dashboards (Meraki, Splunk, Netskope, ServiceNow)
• Respond to alerts and ensure optimal network reliability and security
• Perform maintenance: updates, patches, configuration changes
• Troubleshooting and Support
• Provide advanced support for escalated network issues
• Diagnose and resolve complex problems (ISP, SD-WAN, firewalls, switches, access points)
• Use Splunk for log analysis and cyber security issue resolution
• Manage vendor escalations and contribute to PIR/RFO reports
• Support AWS network and cloud environments
• Handle incidents, problems, and changes through ticketing systems
• Cloud Networking
• Ensure integration of on-prem and AWS cloud environments
• Maintain and support AWS VPNs and related infrastructure
• SASE and SD-WAN Deployment and Management
• Deploy/manage SASE solutions (e.g. FortiSASE, Prisma)
• Integrate SASE with existing infrastructure
• Manage SD-WAN (Meraki, SASE), optimize performance and resource usage
• Security and Compliance
• Implement network security policies and ensure compliance
• Conduct audits, vulnerability assessments, and disaster recovery tests
• Apply vendor fixes and maintain documentation aligned to cyber security standards
