Job Description - Operations Manager (Furniture | Manufacturing) AUS client

WHAT YOU’LL BE UP TO:

We are a rapidly growing furniture company led by a small, dedicated team, including the company director. As we expand, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to oversee and enhance our business operations holistically. This is a remote, outsourced position, offering the opportunity to work closely with the director and significantly impact the company's growth and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Oversight:
    • Manage day-to-day operations of the company to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in all business activities.
    • Develop and implement strategies to streamline workflows and improve operational processes across all sectors of the business.
  2. Workflow Development:
    • Identify and create workflows to enhance business operations, particularly in post-sales order fulfillment, overseas purchasing, inventory management and staff onboarding and training.
    • Collaborate with team members to refine and document operational procedures and protocols.
    • Monitor and assess the efficiency of established workflows, making adjustments as necessary.
  3. Post-Sales Operations Management:
    • Responsible for post-sales operations, including booking, monitoring, and tracking all orders.This would include both our business sales and our individual consumer e-commerce (hosted on Shopify) sales.
    • Collaborate with a new team member in Sydney who will be tasked with managing non-remote post-sale fulfillment operations, like project managing larger office furniture fit-outs or resolving problems that require in-person attention.
    • Follow up withB2B customers or high ticket item e-commerce salesto ensure satisfaction and address any issues promptly
    • Create and enhance post-sales processeswithin our sales CRM Pipedrive, to enhance customer relationship management and increase average order volumes and lifetime values of existing customers.
  4. Team Management and Development:
    • Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive onboarding and training programs for new employees.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to the team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
    • Ensure continuous improvement of team skills and competencies through effective training and development initiatives.
  5. Business Administration and Logistics:
    • Oversee and manage all business administration and logistics components.
    • Ensure effective inventory management and control, including order forecasting within our inventory management software Unleashed
    • Understand and manage the full logistics cycle, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
  6. Collaboration with Director:
    • Work hand-in-hand with the company director, supporting them in strategic planning and decision-making.
    • Take on additional responsibilities as the director focuses on other strategic aspects of the business.
    • Provide regular updates and reports to the director on operational performance and progress.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Proven experience as an Operations Manager or in a similar role, preferably in the furniture or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of business operations, workflow development, logistics coordination, and staff procurement processes.
  • Preferred experience with the following software tools: Google Suite, Shopify, Klaviyo, Pipedrive, Notion & Unleashed Inventory Management
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Resilience and ability to thrive in a start-up environment with unsophisticated core systems and processes that require development.
  • Strong eye for detail and problem-solving abilities when mistakes arise.
  • Proficiency and experience in project management and organizational tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who is not afraid to speak up and voice their opinion.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, with a high level of self-motivation and discipline.
  • Experience in identifying and implementing CRM systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of managing inventory and logistics management.
  • Australian experience is essential.
