Job Description - Parts Supervisor - Operations

Job Summary:
The Parts Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the automotive parts department, ensuring efficient inventory management, timely procurement, and excellent customer service. This role plays a critical part in supporting service technicians, maintaining optimal stock levels, and driving departmental performance aligned with company goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:
- Monitor stock levels and reorder parts to maintain optimal inventory.
- Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
- Manage returns, warranties, and obsolete parts.
Procurement & Vendor Coordination:
- Source parts from approved suppliers and negotiate favorable terms.
- Track purchase orders and ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and manufacturers.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise parts clerks and inventory staff.
- Provide training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Customer Service:
- Assist internal departments and external customers with parts inquiries.
- Ensure prompt and accurate fulfillment of parts requests.
- Resolve issues related to orders, billing, or delivery.
Operational Efficiency:

Implement process improvements to reduce downtime and increase productivity.
Collaborate with service and sales departments to forecast parts needs.
Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the parts area.
