Platform Engineer

We are looking to hire a Platform Engineer (Level 6) to support DevOps and AKS Operations for the Japan market as part of the ETS Reliability Engineering team. The role will be based in the Philippines and will focus on ensuring platform reliability, operational excellence, and automation for cloud‑native workloads running on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

This position plays a key role in supporting business‑critical services, enabling smooth deployments, and maintaining operational stability across non‑production and production environments.

Position Responsibilities:

• Provide Day‑to‑Day DevOps and AKS operational support for the Japan market platforms.
• Manage and support Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters across Non-Prod, and PROD environments.
• Support application onboarding, deployment, scaling, and troubleshooting on Kubernetes.
• Maintain and operate CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
• Perform incident response, root cause analysis (RCA), and post‑incident follow‑ups.
• Support platform upgrades and changes, including config server upgrades, certificate renewals, and security changes.
• Collaborate with application teams to ensure adherence to platform standards, best practices, and reliability requirements.
• Implement and enhance automation, monitoring, alerting, and self‑service capabilities.
• Work closely with Global Platform, Security, and Compliance teams to ensure governance and control adherence.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and operational handovers as required. 

Required Qualifications:

• Strong experience with DevOps practices and cloud‑native platforms.
• Hands‑on expertise with Linux/Unix OS and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes concepts (Pods, Deployments, Services, Ingress, ConfigMaps, Secrets).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across containerized applications, networking, and platform layers.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., New Relic, Azure Monitor, Prometheus).
• Experience working with Linux‑based environments.
• Good understanding of security concepts, including RBAC, managed identities, certificate management, and workload identity.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across distributed teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting multi‑region or market‑specific platforms.
• Exposure to Azure native services such as Key Vault, Service Bus, Storage Accounts.
• Experience in Reliability Engineering / SRE‑aligned environments.
• Prior experience supporting Japanese market workloads is a plus.
• Knowledge of Python and Node.js application ecosystems is advantageous.
