Project Application Engineer

We make products for the data center, utility, industrial, commercial, machine building, residential, aerospace and mobility markets.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nThe primary responsibility of the Project Applications Engineer is to support efforts to profitably grow project sales as a member of the Projects team. Primary areas of focus will be project bill of material creation with a focus on Airport Lighting Products such as runway lighting and signs, electrical vaults, and controls systems. Inside technical sales support responsibilities will include developing project bill of materials, project specification, project take-offs, bid preparation, documentation development, documentation management, and other back-office support required. \n\n * Acts as the lead project take off support for ALP airfield lighting projects leveraging technical and project management skills to coordinate all activities during the project life cycle\n * Work with internal and external sales and engineering resources to develop project plans\n * Search aggregator websites / open-source information for new opportunities and log opportunities and qualify them together with region RSM\n * Perform project design tasks, including but not limited to; material and engineering services take-off, quotation, calculations development of scope documents, drawing layouts, submittal creation, release schedules, and post order documentation creation\n * Works with outside sales to develop cost-effective solutions to meet the customer and project needs.\n * Identifies potential/actual problems requiring attention and provides alternative solutions when identified for project completion.\n * Customer and Site visits as necessary to perform installation inspections, problem resolution, etc.\n * Acts as the primary representative for internal project technical assistance\n * Providing support to ALP, developing project bill of materials\n * Providing Support answering issues about the products via phone calls, Teams, virtual meetings, etc.\n * Drawings in AutoCAD.\n * Other duties as necessary.\n\n\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic Qualifications\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in engineering, a technical discipline, or equivalent experience in electrical quantity surveying\n * 1+ year of technical project experience\n * 1+ year of experience working in an ERP environment\n * 1+ year of experience drafting in AutoCAD\n * 1+ year of experience working with SAP\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n * Experience with project lighting design and tools such as Dialux or similar software\n * Experience conducting material take-offs, preferably for addressable systems (e.g., central battery or fire alarm systems)\n * Experience preparing project bids and cost estimates\n\n\n\nAt Eaton, we don\u2019t just want to offer you a job, but a journey and experience.
