Project Designer - Interior Design

Summary:

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Project Designer to join our dynamic Interior Design team. This hybrid role is ideal for a designer who wants to be involved in all aspects of the design process — from client discovery and space planning to installation and post-project review.

You’ll play a key role supporting senior designers and project managers across multiple phases of commercial interior design projects. Your responsibilities will include CAD production, space planning, material and furniture selection, and creating documentation and presentation materials. This position offers hands-on learning, exposure to a wide range of design applications, and an opportunity to grow within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Requirements:

• Support Senior and Project Designers throughout the entire design lifecycle — including programming, concept development, design documentation, and installation.
• Develop and edit technical drawings, floor plans, and specifications using CAD software.
• Assist with space planning, furniture and finish selections, and preparation of detailed project documentation.
• Participate in site visits, client interviews, inventories, and field verifications to gather project data and assess space functionality.
• Help create professional presentations and client deliverables, including renderings, 3D visuals, material boards, and cost summaries.
• Coordinate with vendors, clients, account managers, and internal teams to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and budget expectations.
• Stay current on industry trends, vendor offerings, and design standards, and contribute ideas for improving processes and creative outcomes.
• Support installation efforts including pre-installation planning, on-site inspections, issue resolution, and final as-built documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from an accredited institution.
• Successful completion of an internship in a design or architecture environment.
• Proficient in CAD or similar drafting software; strong foundation in drafting principles and architectural scales.
• Exposure to space planning and modular/panel systems through coursework or previous experience.
• Ability to assemble polished, visually compelling presentations and documentation.
• Solid understanding of design fundamentals, finishes, furniture specifications, and spatial layout.
• Strong mathematical skills applicable to measurements, scaling, and budgeting within the design process.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.
• Comfortable receiving direction and constructive feedback in a learning environment.
• Able to manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting project priorities.
• Demonstrated creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to delivering high-quality design solutions that meet client needs and code requirements.
