• The Local Buyer is the primary individual responsible for purchasing materials, parts, supplies, products and services necessary for the smooth running of the office and operations services and output.
• The local buyer must retain a good relationships with a wide variety of suppliers, work closely with accounting, treasury, and other depts to insure all that the flow of purchases runs without issues. These responsibilities must be held with the utmost seriousness since errors in this area can affect the entire financial balance of a business.
• The procurement staff should be organized, detail oriented, have an understanding of buying and negotiating with local suppliers for the best price.
• Negotiating for the best pricing structure, the guarantee of acceptable availability and dependable turnaround times insure that the inventory is maintained and the productivity is stable.
• Perform other task as instructed by the Local Purchasing Manager

• Degree in Management/Marketing/Business
• Previous buying experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable
• To have administrative and financial transaction capabilities (preferred)
• MS Excel skills should be very good to highly skilled
• To have good communication skills (Oral and written) and interpersonal skills(with both peers and supervisors)
• To accept other associated responsibilities and projects as and when assigned.

The local buyer must be ethical, conscientious and importantly self driven to get the best price and actually enjoy buying and working with suppliers. This is not a clock in and clock out personality, this is for someone who is ambitious and detail orientated and wants to be a winner.
