Quality and Training Supervisor

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality and Training Supervisor will oversee and enhance the performance of our coding team. This role ensures adherence to quality standards, facilitates onboarding and continuous training of medical coders, and provides performance feedback based on audit results. The ideal candidate has strong analytical and leadership skills, coding expertise, and a passion for coaching and development.

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily quality assurance activities for medical coding operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
• Conduct regular audits of coded records to assess accuracy, adherence to guidelines, and documentation quality.
• Deliver feedback and coaching based on audit results and identify areas for individual and team improvement.
• Develop, implement, and maintain training programs for new hires and ongoing education for current staff.
• Monitor coder performance metrics and collaborate with management on performance improvement plans when needed.
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) and payer-specific rules.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for coding-related questions, documentation requirements, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with operations, QA, compliance, and HR teams to align training and quality programs with organizational goals.
• Stay updated on changes in medical coding standards, payer policies, and healthcare regulations.
• Lead or participate in calibration sessions with internal teams and/or clients.

Job Requirements:

• Must hold AAPCs Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in medical coding, with at least 1-2 years in a quality or training supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Excellent auditing skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Proven experience in creating and delivering training content.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with coding software, audit tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
