Job Description - Quantity Survey Officer
Job Description:● Perform construction take-offs, estimate man-hours per discipline of expertise (Architectural, Structural, Sanitary,Electrical and Mechanical)● Perform cost estimation of labor, materials, equipment and time requirements using plans, specifications and construction documents provided by the Design Management Group● Provide cost estimates and bill of quantities● Schedule work using Excel, Primavera or other scheduling tools, solicit and evaluate subcontractor quotes, and workclosely with other estimators in their discipline field in compiling a complete project estimate● Discusses and confers with the Project Bidding and Awards Committee (PBAC), the Construction Management Department and Supply Chain Management Group regarding project cost estimates;● Database build-up and updating● Files plans, reports and other contract documents in proper storage for easy access and retrieval● Performs all other related duties that may be assigned from time to time Job Qualifications: ● Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering● License is an advantage but not a requirement● At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience as Quantity Surveyor and/or Cost Estimator in a Residential Development Company● Excellent understanding of construction methodologies of various projects - land development, civil, architectural, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and finishing work● Thorough and updated knowledge of costs of construction materials and labor● Must be able to communicate well across all levels in the organization● Meticulous and attentive to details● Must have good communication and presentation skills
