Job Description - RCI: Billing Specialist (Flexicare)


The Billing Specialist I is responsible for handling the most complex aspects of the billing process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all invoicing activities. This role goes beyond day-to-day transaction processing, involving system analysis, cross-functional coordination, and process optimization.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Handle complex and high-value billing transactions
  • Review invoices prepared by Billing Analysts for accuracy and compliance (without direct supervision responsibility)
  • Ensure proper application of Philippine VAT, EWT, and BIR invoicing rules (e.g., Sales Invoice, OR, BIR 2307)
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for billing policies and ERP billing workflows
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex billing issues
  • Lead or support billing-related system enhancements (e.g., template setup, workflow automation)
  • Reconcile billing accounts and contribute to month-end revenue recognition and reporting
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and support internal and external audit requirements
  • Mentor or train Billing Analysts on complex scenarios, though without direct supervisory authority

Background and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws and invoicing compliance (especially BIR requirements)
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Programs
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and customer service skills
