Regional Accounting Controller

Position Overview This person will have overall responsibility for managing the accounting affairs of a subsidiary or group of Subsidiaries (region), reporting to the global Controller. The role will have oversight of day-to-day accounting operations and the monthly close process, including preparation of financial statements, analysis, and reconciliations. The role will include collaboration with shared service teams as well as working with various Country Manager’s and third-party accounting firms for subsidiaries.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide management of accounting operations including but not limited to expenses/payables, Fixed Assets, ASC 842 Leasing, intercompany, reporting, analysis, reconciliations, and audits.

• Supervision of Accounting subsidiary accounting functions including full responsibility and interaction with third-party accounting firms.

• Review and analysis of Intercompany accounts/ transactions and resolve any discrepancies, including elimination entries.

• Review and posting of subsidiary trial balances and research fluctuations.

• Variance analysis for Month-over-Month actuals and collaboration with Finance team in explanations of variance to budget and Forecast.

• Review the proper recording of expenses, payroll, allocations, and A/P, including accrual and prepayment journal entries.

• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial packet which includes the consolidated financial statements and variance analysis to ensure financial statement integrity.

• Manage the financial reporting process to ensure compliance with financial close timelines, reconciliation reviews, policies, procedures, and US GAAP.

• Leads process improvements efforts. Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset by proactively identifying, recommending, and helping implement solutions.

• Assist in the preparation of year-end reporting package, including interaction with external Auditors.

• Develop strong working relationships across the organization to better understand business needs and to provide accounting support.

• Review of local statutory financial reports and oversight of audits and filings for subsidiaries.

• Provide Support with ad hoc projects and requests throughout the year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent. Advance degree or CPA certification a plus.

• 5+ years related experience and/or training, Preferably in BPO or Service Companies.

• Must have international company experience.

• Must possess a strong understanding of US GAAP requirements and financial controls.

• Working knowledge of forecasting and financial reports.

• Demonstrated ability to motivate those not within their control

• Versatility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

• Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and accounting systems (NetSuite experience a plus)
