Our client is a professional development organization with headquarters in Denmark and with 5 sub-regional offices across the world. They operate worldwide with partners in various countries and forms part of a Consortium consisting of the employer’s organization, and the largest union federation in Denmark.

The Asian Sub-Regional Office in Manila oversees programme development and implementation in the region and provides technical support to programme partners in the region.

Our client was founded in 1987, they are the professional development organization of the union movement, though the years, they undergone a continuous development, focusing on technical assistance efforts, quality and trustworthiness in its work.

The client's main programme focuses on four areas such as the creation of decent jobs, the safeguarding of workers' rights, the creation of social protection and the safeguarding of social dialogue.

Overall purpose and responsibilities of the role:

The Finance Officer has extensive internal and external audit experience and will be responsible for overseeing an overall financial overview of the subregion's office.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Accounts and financial records
  • Monitor budget consumption of programmes and partner organisations
  • Keep an overall financial overview and keep the Head of Office up to date
  • Foresee unwanted finance-related developments early on and propose action plans
  • Elaborate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, balances and reconciliations
  • Work closely with the Programme Officers on programme budgets and implementation plans
  • Aid partner organisations in administration and reporting which may entail travel to the countries where the partners are.
  • Assist the external auditor.
  • Conduct training with partners on financial and administrative matters and do follow-up activities.
  • Prepare and pay staff salaries, taxes, social security fees, etc

Requirements

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree holder in Accountancy or any relevant course.
  • Being a Certified Public Accountant is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in accounting, auditing, payroll, and project financial development.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable in International Standards on Auditing (ISA) is required.
  • Experienced in attending external audit processes.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office 365 or Advanced user in Microsoft Excel is preferred.
  • Preferably experienced in using accounting systems. (Quickbooks, Business Central)
  • Work easily with accounting.
  • Philippine passport holder and willing to travel.
