3D Point Cloud Conversion Specialist

We are a creative technology company specializing in subsurface laser engraving for crystal products. Our work transforms 2D images into stunning 3D engravings, and we are seeking a skilled 2D to 3D Conversion Specialist to join our team.

The Role

As a 2D to 3D Conversion Specialist, you will be responsible for converting high-resolution 2D portrait images into engraving-ready 3D point cloud models. This role requires technical precision, artistic sensitivity, and strong knowledge of image-to-3D conversion workflows. You will ensure that models are optimized for subsurface laser engraving machines and scaled to fit crystal dimensions.

Key Responsibilities

• Convert high-resolution 2D portrait images into 3D bas-relief point cloud models for internal crystal engraving
• Transform 2D images (JPEG/PNG) into 3D models with raised facial features and depth effects
• Enhance image contrast and clarity for optimal conversion results
• Ensure point cloud compatibility with engraving machine formats (e.g., OBJ)
• Scale models accurately to match crystal dimensions (e.g., 5cm cube)
• Deliver engraving-ready files with thorough quality checks

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in 2D-to-3D image conversion or related 3D modeling workflows
• Strong knowledge of point cloud generation and file formats (OBJ or similar)
• Proficiency with image editing and 3D modeling software (e.g., Photoshop, Blender, MeshLab, or equivalent)
• Understanding of bas-relief modeling techniques and facial feature detailing
• Ability to optimize models for subsurface laser engraving machines
• Strong attention to detail and quality assurance mindset
