Our Client
In this role, you will be assigned to our UK-based client, who are on a mission to be the go-to adviser for entrepreneurs and indies in the games space in the fields of finance, legal, and other business support areas. They work as a fractional in-house consultant offering cost-effective, pragmatic, and genuinely value-adding advice. Your Responsibilities



  • Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, payment cards, receipts, and employee expenses for client companies.

  • Maintain cloud-based accounting systems (e.g. Xero) and integrate with client tools like automated invoice processing software.

  • Manage the end-to-end AP process, including invoice processing, supplier queries, and preparation of weekly/monthly payment runs for review by the Finance Manager and clients.

  • Support the AR process, including raising invoices, monitoring outstanding balances, and assisting with credit control where required.

  • Responsibility for elements of the month-end processes and reconciliations, and assisting the Finance Manager with the more complex areas

  • Provide support with payroll preparation and processing, ensuring required data is captured and submitted accurately and on time.

  • Implement efficient bookkeeping processes from start to finish to ensure everything is optimized and no time is wasted.

  • Ensure adherence to controls and processes is maintained, and highlight any areas for improvement (along with recommendations) to the Finance Manager.

  • Assist with producing monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements, supporting the Finance Manager with variance analysis and commentary, helping clients understand performance and make informed decisions.

  • Ensure clients meet all statutory filing deadlines, including those for Companies House, HMRC (VAT, PAYE, ERS), and pension contributions/declarations

  • Work closely with the other members of the team to offer a joined-up service

  • Contribute to the development of internal templates, processes, and best practices for scalable client delivery.


 


Your Background



  • Experienced bookkeeper/accountant (3+ years experience)

  • Previous experience working with a UK company (desired but not necessary)

  • Relevant degree / post-graduate accounting qualification

  • Experience with Xero accounting software

  • Wants to contribute to building a truly exceptional, client-focused accounting function



  • Solid experience in transactional accounting. Prepared to roll sleeves up and solve the client’s problems

  • A track record of implementing efficient and automated processes

  • Ability to learn quickly and take ownership of recurring tasks

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Autonomous self-starter

  • A team player
