Job Role: Senior Adviser Associate

Compensation range: $2,500 AUD - $3,500 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: A well-established financial advisory firm based in Australia that provides tailored wealth management and financial planning services. The business works closely with individuals and families to help them build, protect, and manage their financial future through structured advice, long-term planning, and ongoing client relationships.

Role Overview: We are looking for a Senior Adviser Associate with strong Australian financial planning experience who understands the advice process and can confidently contribute to strategy development.

This is a strategy-focused role rather than a document production or traditional paraplanning position. You’ll work closely with the adviser to review client information, explore appropriate strategies, and use financial modelling to support advice discussions.

The ideal person can communicate clearly, think through financial strategies, and confidently explain the reasoning behind their recommendations. You won’t be expected to produce full advice documents, but you will review and validate modelling and strategy work before it progresses.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Review client information, existing advice, and financial circumstances to identify relevant strategies.
• Work with the adviser to develop and discuss financial strategies for clients.
• Use Xplan, including cash flow and financial modelling tools, to assess and test strategy options.
• Review financial modelling and ensure the assumptions and outcomes align with the proposed strategy.
• Support the adviser during the advice process by providing clear strategic and technical input.
• Review strategy recommendations and identify potential issues, gaps, or areas requiring further consideration.
• Participate in technical vetting and strategy discussions, with your reasoning and recommendations documented for adviser review.
• Review advice-related work for accuracy, consistency, and alignment with the agreed strategy.
• Maintain accurate client information and strategy notes in Xplan.
• Communicate confidently with the adviser and wider team regarding technical and strategic matters.
• Contribute to improving the advice and strategy development process, including the use of technology and AI tools.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in an Australian financial planning environment as an Senior Advisor Associate, Senior Paraplanner, or similar role.
• Strong understanding of the Australian financial advice process.
• Strong knowledge of Australian financial planning, including:
• Superannuation
• Retirement planning
• Investments
• Centrelink
• Insurance
• Strong Xplan experience, particularly with cash flow modelling and financial strategy analysis.
• Ability to confidently discuss and develop financial strategies with an adviser.
• Strong understanding of how strategy recommendations flow through the advice process.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Confident in explaining technical financial concepts clearly.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to critically review strategy and modelling work.

Nice to Haves

• Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning, CFP, or enrolment in a relevant financial planning qualification.
• Experience mentoring or training junior paraplanners.
• Previous experience in a senior paraplanning, SME, or team leadership role.
• Experience with Intelliflo, Productrex, Wealthsolver, or other Australian financial planning and modelling platforms.
• Experience with age pension strategies and retirement-focused advice for clients aged 55 to 75.
• Experience with lifetime income stream strategies.
• Exposure to debt recycling strategies and related tax and documentation requirements.
• Experience with AI-assisted paraplanning workflows or transcript-to-fact-find processes.
• Kaplan Professional qualifications or active enrolment in a relevant financial planning program.

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
