Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST

Salary: $5 – $6 per hour

Workplace: Remote

Preferred Location: Philippines

Our client is a U.S.-based Physical Therapy Billing Services company that supports clinics by managing front-end revenue cycle processes, including insurance verification and prior authorizations. We are committed to accuracy, efficiency, and strong communication to ensure reliable billing support for our clients.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Benefits & Eligibility Virtual Assistant who is VERY WELL VERSED with California insurance payers.

This role focuses on front-end medical billing processes, specifically insurance benefits verification and eligibility checks. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working with California payers and understands Physical Therapy billing workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility with U.S. payers (via phone calls and not only through portals). 
  • Document benefits with a representative's name and reference number.
  • Work directly with California insurance providers
  • Communicate with insurance companies regarding coverage, benefits, and requirements
  • Support prior authorization processes when required
  • Maintain accurate documentation in spreadsheets and billing systems
  • Follow established verification protocols and workflows

Required Qualifications

  • Atleast 1 year of direct experience handling Benefits & Eligibility verification for U.S. healthcare providers
  • Strong familiarity with California insurance payers and their processes
  • Background in Medical Billing or Revenue Cycle Management (RCM)
  • Experience communicating with insurance companies for verification and authorization
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow specific protocols
  • Outgoing, responsive, and professional communication style
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working with Physical Therapy billing or a similar specialty is a plus
  • Administrative experience in a healthcare setting
  • Background in Physical Therapy (PT) or Orthopedics (Ortho) is a plus
  • Proficiency with Prompt is a plus

Basic requirements

  • Must be proficient in speaking and writing English very clearly
  • Must have relevant work experience
  • Be able to submit an NBI clearance and/or Local Police Clearance background check before onboarding [mandatory]
  • Must be available for video meetings with your camera on (when needed)
